I’m Crystal, an Atlanta-based Design and Research Director with over 15 years of experience.

I bring a deep passion for guiding teams in creating impactful experiences that resonate with real users. My commitment extends beyond design to delivering meaningful value, consistently evidenced by measurable results.

Lead Teams & Strategy

At Lumen, I have focused on establishing a robust UX research practice, advancing our inclusive design and accessibility practices, and maturing the design system.

I lead the Enterprise UX team in creating a new platform experience that enhances service management capabilities, reduces friction in the buying process, and enables users to compose solutions from both traditional and consumption-based products.

Design Processes

I have successfully introduced processes in multiple companies that enhance collaboration between product, design, and development teams.

My focus has been on implementing frameworks that streamline design and research activities, ensuring they do not become bottlenecks in the development process.

Mentorship

I host weekly 1-on-1 sessions with members of the ADPList mentor community.

During these sessions, I provide career advice, share experiences from my past, and offer a listening ear to designers, whether they are new or experienced.

Outreach & Networking

I am an active member of several design communities, where I engage with other designers, learn from them, and build connections.

In the past year, I have also spoken at various virtual conferences and meetups, sharing insights and experiences.

Truist One View

Role: Experience Design Director, Commercial Banking

Responsibility: Led the design and research team post-merger for the Truist commercial banking desktop and mobile app launches.

Lumen Marketplace

Role: Enterprise UX Design & Research Director

Responsibility: Led the design and research for launching digital eCommerce experiences for Lumen’s Fiber+, Dedicated Internet Access, DDoS, and SASE products, now featured on the Lumen Marketplace.

Lumen Service Mgmt

Role: Enterprise UX Design & Research Director

Responsibility: Leading the design and research team to create cohesive service management experiences for both traditional and consumption-based technology and telecom products.
